Definition of Interspaces
The basic definition of interspace is the space between two or more things. In context there would be a more detailed definition to this term. Space could be described as empty until you start adding things which would be defined as interspace where there is now a space present between things. Arnheim emphasised a lot on the concept of space and how its defined. Arnheim believed that space is an entity which is self contained. He also believed that space is created as a relationship between objects and that these relationships happen in perceptual experiences. He referred interspaces as 'density' (Arnheim, 1977).
Interspace in relation to project
This week when we learnt about interspaces and static organisations, we applied the term and definitions to our model and project. It was important for us to understand how interspaces affects the design of our building and also ensuring it is also suitable for people as this is a public commercial building in which people who occupy the building are able to move efficiently and effectively.
This week we learnt more about the definition of spaces/interspaces and also understood how we can apply the concept to our model and future projects.
